OK...so you were probably expecting me to talk about my new stove (which is fabulous and I will) but I have an interruption, first. I know this isn't my scrapping blog but I just finished this two page spread and I'm really proud of it so I wanted to share it with all you non-scrappers, too. I was so inspired by a "rainbow" layout that I saw that I thought I would try it and I LOVE how it turned out. This is Alexander and is for his baby book. I"m not going to bore you with the credits, but, if I counted right, I used bits and pieces from 113 different kits (plus a template and a font!). It was crazy but so much fun!! Anyway, here it is... (and if you wanna see the credits, you can go here - at least I think that'll work).
Until next time...

My New Toy!!!
I am so very excited today. I purchased a brand, new people sized stove!! (Rather than the Hobbit sized one I currently have). I have been torn on what to get...double oven or not and so on. Then, I heard about this one...the Samsung Flex Duo Oven.
You see that tray that's partially slid out? That's the duo oven feature. It can be removed entirely so you have one big oven or it can be put it so that you have two small ovens. Great for cooking two things at different temperatures or just for only heating up a smaller portion of your oven when you're making pizza or something like that. I heard about this and I knew that it was the coolest thing and I totally had to have it!! The only difficulty was that no one stocks it. Seriously, there are at least 3 stores in town that carry Samsung...one of whom featured this very item on their television commercials, yet did not have it in stock. So, I went asking. Sears was my first stop and they told me that they don't have it but could order it. In fact, the salesman at the Sears Home store told me that they have been begging head office for a display model but, for some reason, they wouldn't send one. So, he looked up the price for me (on sale for $300 off this weekend!) and wished me luck. Another guy, who seemed a bit higher up actually went to call head office and bug them again while we were there (nothing like being a catalyst!) The salesman even told me that if I found it somewhere else (even if I bought it there) to please call him and let him know. Well, we had a little discussion and decided that the prices were reasonable and we would just purchase it, anyway, sight unseen (this may not have been smart but time will tell). I did hear this happening a lot in the few online reviews I found, too. After we finished the transaction, the second guy came out and said that head office finally caved and they would have a floor model in two weeks. Mine will be here in one. :) I am kinda curious as to whether all the sales guys will follow the delivery truck out just to check it out (I'm only sorta kidding). So, in the next week, we have to put a plug on our wiring (current stove is hard wired) and remove a little half wall. Not a big deal...then I get to use a real stove that really works!!!! I'm so excited (though it's been so long that I probably won't be able to cook anything at first).
Until next time...

I Do Seem To Go In Spurts...
Well, it's been Easter break from school this week and it has ended up busier than I intended. I haven't even had a pyjama day!! We have had appointments and play dates and various other things going on. Fun, but definitely not relaxing. Especially since I can't decide if I'm getting sick or not (just a cold, though). My parents are lucky enough to be in Europe and I can't say I don't wish I was, too :). I'll get over it, though...probably. Anyway, I have the rest of February's photos to show you so I'll get a move on at that. I am scrapping my last January page and then I get to move on. It's pretty exciting being done a month!!
Feb 24 - I had to get a new spring coat. Zippers are such a pain in the butt. Seriously...I feel like I'm always having the zipper go on another jacket. However, I managed to flesh out some incredible deals. Not only did I get a spring coat, but also this wonderful winter dress jacket. The combined regular price of the two was $525 or so and I got them BOTH for $110. :D
Feb 25 - Build & Grow day at Lowe's!! The kids love these. They're simple kits that the store provides. There are a couple pieces to nail together and a couple stickers to put on but it's a great Saturday morning outing. This week, they got to build Jimmy Johnson cars - big excitement in our house!
Feb 26 - Sometimes you just see how fast your kids are growing up. My baby decided he had to have a pillow (pi-woe) to sleep with...just like his big brothers.
Feb 27 - A tornado with legs. That's what this child (sleeping so peacefully in the aforementioned photo) can tend to be. And a magnet for every single marker in the house. It's a good thing that he's so darn cute, because he has marker on his face just a bit too often!
Feb 28 - This is the ill-fated breaker box. If you don't know the story...head back to my post the same day. No cleaning for the unlucky :).
Feb 29 - A bonus day! Yay! Once every 4 years. Too bad it doesn't seem like we have an extra 24 hours in the year. It all goes by pretty much like every other 24 hour day does. Though, on this particular 24 hour day, Jonathan got his very first haircut!! My cousin very kindly agreed to come over to cut the boys' hair so this was in our dining room (while I watched her little one).
Anyway, that's the end of February. I gotta start thinking about supper so it's time for me to go now.
Until next time...

...Turned Into One Amazing Morning!
Luke 24:1-9
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise." And they remembered his words, and returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.
He is risen indeed!

One Dark Day...
Luke 23:33, 34a
And when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there they crucified him, and the criminals, one on his right and one on his left. And Jesus said, "Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.
Until next time...
